This is awesome. Somewhat whimsical, dark folk that, imho, has a big early-Projekt vibe, while sometimes the arrangements, especially the strings, are serving me very 90s LPD. I was immediately struck by the way Sam's (I assume) vocals remind me of another Sam's vocals in early Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

A dreamy, beguiling, nostalgic dungeon synth quest through the shires. But, it's so much more than that. The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks. The record is addictive melancholy inspiration. The ideal music for accompanying the dawning morning of an epic adventure.

La source, c'est le lieu où se rencontrent des symboliques en opposition : les malheureux s'y noient dans le mensonge qu'est leur reflet et les preux chevaliers s'y révèlent ; c'est un écrin de nature où l'on peut avoir audience avec le surnaturel. C'est justement l'univers choisi par Water Nymph dans Heroic Pond, son premier album : on y retrouve le même dungeon synth marin avec cette fois plus de majesté — et on y entend les nymphes chanter et jouer du violon ! Une petite perle réconfortante.
